********************* Milestone Mobile 2013 ********************* This ReadMe file provides information about last minute changes to the product, license information, how to contact product support, and more. ---------- Important: ---------- The Milestone Mobile 2013 clients support devices running Android 2.2 and higher, or iOS 6 and higher. The XProtect® Web Client supports the recent versions of the major web browsers, with HTML5 and JavaScript enabled. To use Milestone Mobile or Xprotect Web Client, your security camera(s) must be connected to an XProtect® video management system, and you must have a Milestone Mobile server installed and configured. -------------------- Known Server Issues: -------------------- Adding Milestone Mobile server as hardware device for Video Push does not work if the Milestone Mobile server address is set as "127.0.0.1". Use "localhost" instead. If auto-export on motion is set up for Video Push cameras, and auto-export is in progress, restarting services will result in an errorneous auto-export made due to Video Push channel initialization. If you uninstall the Milestone Mobile server, it will not delete the custom- provided user certificates (if used) from the Personal Certificates store. If you uninstall Milestone Mobile server, it will not remove its entry from the registered mobile services list if the Milestone Mobile server is located on a remote machine. The server entry can be removed manually by the system administrator. Upgrading only the Milestone Mobile server component of an existing XProtect Corporate installation with version earlier than 6.0 will lead to error "Milestone XProtect Data Collector Server failed to start". Instead, install the Milestone Mobile server on a separate, clean machine, or upgrade first to XProtect Corporate v6.0 and then install the Milestone Mobile server. After you restart the Milestone Mobile server, add, or update a Video push channel configuration, the server might need up to 30 seconds to apply the new configuration. While this is going on, you cannot push video from the connected Milestone Mobile clients. In the surveillance server credentials dialog, if you select a user with no administrative rights on the surveillance server machine, this will prevent the Milestone Mobile server from connecting to the Surveillance Server. The option to limit the exports folder size in the Milestone Mobile server will prevent you from creating new exports once the limit has been reached. However, exports started before the limit is reached will not be prevented from growing above the limit. Users with no rights to create exports for a given camera will still be able to generate database exports or avi exports, and see the already created exports for that camera. After deleting a camera its exports will be accessible only to the user that created them. Enabling autoexport functionality on too many cameras can lead to a lot of auto exports being queued, which will significantly increase the load on the Milestone Mobile server's CPU. If the Milestone Mobile server's CPU is under high load, the management plugin may experience difficulties connecting to the Milestone Mobile server. -------------------- Known Client Issues: -------------------- XProtect Web Client may disconnect after some time, if opened in a background tab in a mobile browser (such as Safari on iPad). Users with no rights to access sequences will not be able to create exports with XProtect Web Client, or navigate to a specific time, previous or next sequence in playback mode. PTZ presets, Views and camera names in Cyrillic may not be displayed properly in the Milestone Mobile clients if you connect to servers in XProtect Enterprise, XProtect Professional, XProtect Express, or XProtect Essential software versions. You can avoid this by changing the Windows System Locale on the machine on which the surveillance server is installed. Video push on HTC Desire with Android 2.2 will not support camera resolutions of 1280x720 or higher. If you use XProtect Web Client with Safari running on an iOS device (such as an iPad), this may lead the browser to close due to a JavaScript memory management issue in some versions of Safari. Milestone recommends that you use the native Milestone Mobile iOS client, or another browser (such as Chrome). If you use XProtect Web Client with Internet Explorer 9 running on Lenovo notebooks, the browser may stop responding after log in. This is due to an issue with Lenovo video drivers and IE9. Milestone recommends that you use another browser in this case (such as Chrome). ---------- Licensing: ---------- See the Milestone End-user License Agreement for details on installation and use. ---------------- Product Support: ---------------- For product support, please contact your Milestone XProtect vendor.
